Spring Break - Bittersweet

I always look forward to spring break and that wonderful week off with my family. This year it will be a bittersweet time. I am so looking forward to the break for everyone and the great week we will spend together, however, this year I am sad to see it come around as I will have to head back to work after SB. It will be so hard to leave Amber. Thank God my mom and SIL will be keeping her for 2 weeks before she goes to the sitter. I am not worried about her going to the sitter because we have an awesome sitter. I just am sad that I have to leave her and head back to work. I guess that is just the way things are and I'll be fine and she will be too. Maybe I can win the lottery this weekend - of course that would mean I would have to play the lottery - something I never do ! First time for everything - right ?

On a much happier note. I can't wait for Wednesday as Brandi and Shay and Addy and Emmerson will be here. THey will be staying with us for a couple of days. We are so excited to have them here and to just get to hang out with them again. I miss my girls so much can not wait to see them. They are all grown up - Addy always was but is even more so now !!! We will be sad to see them head out on Friday. Maybe we can make time stand still - that is about as believable as me winning the lottery.

Everyone have a great Friday and an awesome SB.

A month today

Wow how time flies. Amber will be a month old in about 2 hours and 7 minutes. At exactly this time 4 weeks ago, I was headed to the hospital wondering if I was in labor and just a short 2 hours later we had a beautiful baby girl in our arms. I can't believe it has already been a month. My time with her is growing short and I will be returning to work. Although I am ready for some adult conversation and to see my kids at school, I am not ready to leave my sweet baby girl. She is changing so much everyday, I'm sad that i will miss those pivotal milestones. I know she will be well taken care of, but it still makes me very sad to have to leave her.

She is now smiling when she hears our voices and is sleeping very well. We are down to 1 feeding at night. Hopefully by the time I go to work we will be sleeping through the night.

Blessings to all who have recently had little ones or are awaiting the arrival of their little one. They are such blessings from God. And yes, they are even blessings when they are 14 (like Nate) and being total teenagers.

Love to all.

FYI

The date on the post with the pictures is Monday the 9th. That is not correct - I actually posted that today. It was originally done as a draft on the 9th but I never posted it. I couldn't seem to get pics to upload until today :). Sorry for the confusion on her age as related to the date of the post.

SHE IS HERE....

Well it has been a while since I posted and from the title of our blog you can make a guess that our sweet little girl is here. She arrived on February 5, 2009. She weighed 5 lbs 11 oz and was 19 1/4 inches long. She is a precious, sweet angel. Everyone is absolutely in love with her and I can tell you she is going to be rotten, and that is okay !!!!

We thank God everyday for our sweet little miracle and are amazed at what a blessing she has already been in our lives. God definitly knows what we need to make our families complete and we are so blessed to have her in our lives. She completes our little family.

So here are just a couple of pics of her - trust me I could have posted a million but I only posted 3. Enjoy.

This is Amber Nicole a couple of days after she was born. She is as sweet as she looks in this picture.
This is Amber today - she is now 2 weeks and 1 day old. She is an amazing little thing and we love her more and more everyday.

This is the day she was born. I think this picture was taken just a few minutes or so after her birth. As you can tell we are proud parents. I didn't post any pictures of her and her brothers, but trust me they are in love with their little sister. As for the rest of the family - I think they are so taken by her they don't know what to do - as we all are.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for us during this pregnancy and for those who provided meals for my boys while I couldn't. God has truly blessed our family with friends and family who are always there for us. We thank you and love you more than you will ever know. God bless each of you as he has blessed our lives.

Catching Up...

Well I haven't blogged in a while so this may be lengthy. First of all, we had our 36 week check up yesterday and things are going good. Little Amber isn't quite ready to make her debut yet, but that is okay. The longer she stays in the better it will be for all of us - I think. Everything looked and sounded good and at this point there were no concerns. We are all pulling for her to be here on Sunday the 1st which would be Richard's birthday and the superbowl and what better day to make your arrival than on Superbowl Sunday for your daddy's birthday (who just happens to be a coach :) ) I had a shower this past Saturday given by my family and it was wonderful. I can not even begin to tell you how amazing it was and how much she got. She is going to be one styling little girl - the clothes we have gotten is so cute. I'm going to have to change her 10 times a day just to see her in all of it before she outgrows it. We also got a very cute car seat stroller combo from my hostesses and a "spa" bathtub. That is just a few of the things she got. We are truly blessed to be loved by such amazing people.

On Sunday, Richard and I went to the Brad Paisley concert and it was out of this world. It was truly one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Thank you honey for the tickets - I had such a great time. Brad Paisley performed for 2 hours. We got our money's worth that is for sure. We were about 10 rows away from the R hand side of the stage - so close I could see his..... biceps ladies biceps !!!!! Man oh man can he play that guitar !!! It was fun to go out with my husband and enjoy ourselves. Mom thanks for keeping the boys so late even when you had to come to work the next morning.

All in all it has been an exciting weekend and we are anxiously awaiting Amber's arrival. We can't wait for her to be here and finally get to meet her and see who she looks like. I'm sure it will be her daddy as all my kids have looked just like him when they are born. I will blog as soon as I can to let everyone know all the details. God bless each of you. Enjoy the snow and the cold. Snuggle up with your loved one and be happy.

Over The Weekend

Well, it was a good restful weekend. We really didn't have much to do or many places to go so that was nice. I did have my first shower this weekend. It was hosted by the ladies in my Sunday School and it was a very good shower. It was so much fun to open all the wonderful gifts we received. It's funny, I've had babies in 2 different generations and so I'm getting lots of the new stuff that wasn't available when the boys were born. It's neat to see how much there is out there to use, and some of it I'd just rather not use!!!!!

We got home and Richard went through all the stuff and said "I've never seen so much pink in my life." Despite all that he had a good time going through all the stuff and enjoyed all the beautiful clothes and neat things little Amber got. He is going to be such a good daddy to this little girl. He is so anxious to see her and hold her, I can't wait to see the look on his face when she gets here.

My mom didn't get to go to the shower so I got to look through the stuff again with her and that was lots of fun. She is very excited also. Overall we had a great turnout and all was wonderful.

I have a dr. appt. today and will keep you updated. Other than that life is normal for right now anyway.

8 months

Okay, I'm not much on pictures of myself, but Nathaniel is quite the photographer and has been wanting to take some pics of my preggo belly with the family so here they are. I think he did a pretty good job.

This is one of my favorites.
